Field Trips Rock!

Tomorrow, we'll be on the road again!  We are going to Campbellsville to Green River Cinema 6.  All 5th graders will be seeing "Rise of the Guardians".  Here's the official trailer!  Exciting, huh?  This field trip is a reward for our outstanding test scores last spring on the KPREP test!  You guys rocked it!  Congratulations! 

We will also have an awards ceremony tomorrow night at 6:00 here at school!  Please come on out to celebrate your accomplishments!  Let us show you how proud we are.  :)

Well, Hello, There!

I'm so excited that you're here today!  Just to show you how much, I am sharing this little gem of a Thanksgiving video.  You're gonna love it!  It's cheesetastic!  Turkey...hey!  Mashed potatoes...hey!

We're taking this show on the road!

Next week, we'll have TWO, yes, that's right, TWO field trips!  We are going to Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace National Park on Wednesday (September 5th), and taking a walking field trip to Civil War Days on Friday (September 7th).  Parents are welcome to meet us at our destinations, however, they are not permitted to ride the bus with us.  I'm really looking forward to our trips!  We are so lucky to live in an area so rich with history.  At Lincoln's Birthplace, we'll be participating in a program called "A Walk Through Lincoln's Life".  We'll get to see living history demonstrations, a Lincoln reenactor, and of course, his cabin and homeplace.  We will also have lunch at the picnic area and even get ice cream! 

On Friday, we will walk up to Civil War Days and check it out!  On Friday, we'll also have our lunch on the courthouse lawn and make a trip to the graveyard for some cool math and social studies stuff!  What a fun week, huh?!?!
